Chart Guthrie will call for us this coming Sunday at the Brush Barn. The band for the dance will be The LITMA Contra Band. Under Mary Abdill’s able leadership, the LITMA Contra Band provides a lively mix of danceable tunes and a truly BIG sound!

$15 General admission
$10 LITMA Members
Students Half Price
Children under 16 FREE with paid Adult

Please bring a Friend (or two) and Snacks to share at the break.
The next LITMA Contradance will be on Sunday, June 15^th.

LITMA needs volunteer assistance to keep the dancing going.  We need folks to help with set up, take down, sound and sitting at the door. LITMA Contra Band leads an open on-line Celtic jam almost daily. With Sonobus we all play together and hear each other (unlike Zoom jams). We convene Mon-Tue and Thu-Sat 5:30-7:00 PM (All times New York). You can arrive late, leave early, etc as you like.|

First-Time Setup:
(1) You will need broadband internet service, usually this means cable or fiber (eg, FIOS).
(2) Your computer needs to be connected (with Ethernet cable) to your router or cable modem; WiFi will lead only to frustration.
(3) Install Sonobus on your computer from www.sonobus.net
(4) To get the for repertoire send me an e-mail (both addresses below, please).

Regular use:
(1) Run Sonobus
(2) Connect to the private group LITMA (case-sensitive: not “Litma”, not “litma”, etc).

To stay in contact, you can join the LITMA and Friends Remote Jam group chat on FaceBook

Optional Video via the link in Sonobus – don’t worry, we’ll talk you through it.

If you’re not sure your setup works, please try to arrange a time with me beforehand to test.

As of September 10, 2023, COVID-19 Community Level on Long Island is LOW
LITMA will monitor the COVID Community Level and adjust our policy as necessary.
For LOW Community Level the LITMA Smithtown Dance Policy is as follows:

1) Masks NOT required. 
2) Proof of Vaccination not required.
3) LITMA will have masks and hand sanitizer available and encourage their use.
4) if you have symptoms STAY HOME.

This post marks the start of a new WordPress based LITMA website.

The old website was ‘static’ with only a single point of contact for adding or changing content. The new site allows for Editors, Authors and other user categories, with each user having their own login credentials.

Needless to say, the starter web site needs a lot of work to make it useful – hopefully many hands will result in light work
