Members of the LITMA Contra Band run an open remote Celtic jam Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday 5:30 – 7:00 PM. You can arrive late, leave early, etc as you like.

We use Sonobus, the best free on-line jamming platform we’ve tried; We can all hear each other in close to real time (typical delay: 15 milliseconds).

Notation for all tunes via website (link provided when you join), or you can play by ear/memory.

To stay in touch, you can join the LITMA and Friends Remote Jam group on FaceBook Messenger. Or message me if any questions.

First-Time Setup:
(1) You will need broadband internet service, usually this means cable or fiber (eg, FIOS).
(2) Your computer needs to be connected (with Ethernet cable) to your router or cable modem; WiFi will lead only to frustration.
(3) Install Sonobus on your computer from www.sonobus.net

Regular use:
(1) Run Sonobus
(2) Connect to the private group LITMA (case-sensitive, all caps, not “Litma”, not “litma”, etc).

Optional Video via the link in Sonobus – don’t worry, we’ll talk you through it.

If you’re not sure your setup works, please try to arrange a time with me beforehand to test.

As of September 10, 2023, COVID-19 Community Level on Long Island is LOW
LITMA will monitor the COVID Community Level and adjust our policy as necessary.
For LOW Community Level the LITMA Smithtown Dance Policy is as follows:

1) Masks NOT required. 
2) Proof of Vaccination not required.
3) LITMA will have masks and hand sanitizer available and encourage their use.
4) if you have symptoms STAY HOME.

BIG CHANGES TO LITMA DANCE SCHEDULE

NOTICE – The December 11 LITMA Smithtown Contradance HAS BEEN CANCELLED. There will be NO MORE LITMA Contradances in 2022.

There will be dancing every night!

In 2023 LITMA Smithtown Contradances will be on the 3^rd Sunday of the month from 2:00-5:00PM. They will continue to be at the Brush Barn in Smithtown. The next LITMA Contradance will be on  SUNDAY, January 15^th at 2:00 PM
